Hey guys! I’m Julie! I’m a wife, mama to Brady and Kennedy, a Chick-Fil-A regular, animal lover, Jesus follower, thrifty shopper, avid wine drinker and obsessed with anything gold foiled or turquoise! I’m also the mom behind Mama’s Lookbook. I began blogging back in 2010 when I was out in California “living the dream”. At the time, I was also working full-time and trying to enjoy seeing and doing everything that San Diego had to offer. And, as many bloggers know, working full-time and blogging everyday is a lot of work so eventually, I gave it up and got sucked into the corporate world.
Even though I stopped blogging, I have kept up with other bloggers and influencers in the fashion/home industry and have been wanting to start again ever since, but I just had too much in my head holding me back. Like “Everyone is blogging now, my life isn’t interesting enough, and so on.” After becoming a mom in 2016, all of that went out the window. Here I was a new mom who always said “I’m not going to be that mom who let’s herself go.” Ha! Fast forward six months later.. I realized I became that girl! The reality is though- there is absolutely nothing wrong with that! I am just your typical everyday mom who sports leggings and mom buns 90% of the time, gets dressed in workout clothes to lounge around the house and sip wine and I am tired!
That brings me to where I am now. I am currently working for a non-profit in a position I love and since my creative wheels started turning again, I decided to start blogging yet again in my free time. I love sharing comfortable, casual, affordable & everyday looks for all those mama’s, like me, who feel (or felt) like they are in a rut. I will also share some of my favorite mom products, home decor and just funny + real life inspiration & stories I am sure most of you can relate to while trying to “keep it real” the best that I can.
My hope is for this space is to inspire other moms, or moms-to-be, who feel like their in a frump and just need a good read. I want to reassure you that even though you may have on leggings and your hair in a rats nest like mine is 99.9% of the time, you can still make yourself look cute! 🙂 Of course, I will also share pictures here and there of when I actually have my hair done with make-up on, but I want this to be real, honest and something you can all relate with!
Sometimes I do use affiliate links on my blog and make a small commission each time you purchase something through one of my links. This is no extra cost to you, but I want to thank you in advance for shopping through my blog. 🙂 I do want you to know I only share things I know all moms would love and they are all my own opinions! I appreciate all of the support. 🙂
Thanks for reading and following along!
