You always hear about the terrible twos’, but you don’t really understand the concept until you have a child and he turns two. Holy tantrums! I know this is due to the fact that they are having to transition from all things baby to toddler and discovering their personalities. I just keep telling myself this too will pass and then there are the 3’s which I hear are even worse. Someone send wine. Oh wait.. I can’t drink right now. 🤦♀️
We are going through everything “terrible twos” right now from the tantrums, meltdowns, you name it and it’s no fun to say the least. I will proudly say, we have OFFICIALLY weened off the bottle so praise the lord for that! I know, I know, it’s about time! Most kids do this at one year, but not us and I’m not sure if this was harder for me or for Brady. I’ll be the first to admit, it is so much easier on mama getting them down to sleep when you have a bottle. Our big challenge was that Brady wouldn’t (and still won’t) drink milk out of a sippy cup. We have literally tried almost EVERY sippy cup out there, and he refuses to drink milk out of it. Water yes, milk no – so needless to stay we are still battling that, but it has been a week of no bottle. Go us!
We have also transitioned to the toddler bed in our house and now we are facing a new battle of him sleeping in it. He was sleeping in his crib fine, but now he refuses. How many of you mamas have tips for this? We need it because this is the challenge we are currently having.
Don’t get me wrong, I know even though this stage is brutal on us as parents, it’s actually really good for our toddlers because they are finding their little personalities and developing, but it is hard. We have found, the best thing is to find a strategy of what works for you and stick to it. I have also discovered when we ignore his tantrums they don’t last near as long so that’s what we do! If any of you mamas are experiencing the same thing, I would love to hear what has worked for you and things you are doing. And yes, I hear that the 3’s are even worse so I’m looking forward to that! 🙂
So that’s it for today’s rant and what we’ve been up to in the Horne household! Send prayers & good vibes our way!
